Bar and restaurant fit out and design agency, Dawnvale has unveiled its latest project, as the stylish city hideaway, Surburban Green opens its doors in Wimslow, Cheshire.
The Dawnvale team transformed the empty shell of the building into a beautiful urban retreat, working from the ground up with flooring installation, interior design, bar and kitchen design, build and install and furniture manufacture.
With the original building extended and new stairs installed, the cosmopolitan, cosy new space serves up delectable tapas-style dishes in the form of carefully crafted small plates perfect for sharing, classic cocktails, craft beers and fine wines.
Despite being originally approached to work with the new neighbourhood bar’s owner, Martin Lowe on the bar and kitchen, Dawnvale were commissioned to spearhead the entire project, delivering a wealth of services to transform the empty space into a vibrant venue with a difference.
Claire Hunter, Designer said, “Martin wanted to bring something different to Wimslow. This is reflected in the menu and the food and we used this as the foundation of our installation and design, from the flooring right through to the light fittings. Working from an empty shell gave lots of possibilities and we’ve really been able to maximise the space to the full.
In addition to the inviting interior, Dawnvale’s stainless steel bar system, complete with cocktail stations was fitted to keep the drinks flowing. The frontage uses infinity stone panels, with a distressed steel bar top, adding to the relaxing, cosy vibe.
The site had restricted space for the bar and with no cellar to store Surburban Green’s craft beer kegs, Dawnvale used its creative expertise to install an open cellar feature at the end of the bar and as part of the bar. Fixed seating towards the rear of the restaurant makes further clever use of the space, with the seat pads rising to make way for bottle storage.
