Bespoke Furniture for The Gwbert Hotel: A Longstanding Partnership

Our team has just completed a bespoke furniture installation at The Gwbert Hotel, marking another successful collaboration with the FlatRock Group. This project highlights the strong relationships we build with clients who return to us time and time again for our quality craftsmanship and reliable service.

A Trusted Partnership with the FlatRock Group

Owned by Wells and Louise Jones, the FlatRock Group is a hospitality brand offering luxury coastal getaways, comfortable town accommodations, restaurants, bars, pubs, and self-contained holiday cottages. As a family-run business based in Cardigan, their focus is on delivering outstanding guest experiences across their venues.

The Cliff Hotel & Spa: Where It All Began

Our partnership with the FlatRock Group began at The Cliff Hotel & Spa, a stunning coastal retreat overlooking Poppit Sands and Cardigan Island. This large-scale project involved designing and installing a bespoke bar using our Barmade System and One Step Method—ensuring everything staff need is within a single step, maximising efficiency and speed of service.

Beyond the bar, our team designed and installed curved booth seating and loose furniture, complementing the hotel’s refurbishment on the ground level. The result was a seamless blend of style and functionality, enhancing the overall guest experience.

The Grosvenor: A Traditional Pub with Character

Following the success of The Cliff Hotel, we were invited to work on The Grosvenor in Cardigan Bay. Perfectly situated on the banks of the River Teifi, opposite Cardigan Castle, this traditional pub required a mix of loose and fixed furniture for the first floor. The owners personally selected the lighting, planting, and other decorative elements, ensuring a well-balanced and welcoming interior.

The Gwbert Hotel: From Concept to Creation

Our latest project with the FlatRock Group brings us to The Gwbert Hotel, a family-run gem on the West Coast of Wales. Every piece of furniture for this project was designed, crafted, and assembled by our expert team, ensuring a fully bespoke fit-out rather than off-the-shelf solutions.

The fixed seating was meticulously designed and prebuilt in our workshop to guarantee a perfect fit before being taken to the site. This included a standout feature: custom wave bench seating, which required precision craftsmanship to achieve its unique shape and structure. By constructing and test-assembling each section in advance, we ensured a smooth installation process on-site.

Alongside the fixed seating, we created a range of bespoke tables with a combination of timber and stone tops, each mounted on custom-designed bases. The loose seating included a mix of high stools and side chairs upholstered in a hand-painted fabric depicting synchronised geese. Every material was carefully sourced locally, reinforcing the project's commitment to quality and sustainability.

Transforming the Gwbert Hotel: A Striking New Look

With the new furniture installed, The Gwbert Hotel now boasts a refreshed hospitality space that seamlessly blends comfort and elegance. The fixed seating, finished in a luxurious mix of leather and velvet with fluted backs, adds depth and sophistication to the interior. The carefully curated combination of textures, colours, and materials enhances the overall aesthetic, creating an inviting and memorable experience for guests.

Beyond aesthetics, this transformation improves the hotel's operational efficiency and customer flow, optimising seating layouts to increase capacity and comfort. The revitalized scheme is designed to boost return on investment by elevating guest experience, encouraging longer stays, and reinforcing The Gwbert Hotel’s reputation as a premier coastal retreat.

Looking Ahead

As the FlatRock Group continues to expand and evolve, we’re proud to be a trusted partner in their journey. We look forward to future collaborations and bringing their vision to life across more venues.
